2021 Conference Teaser: The Venue

Our conference this year is being held at Mylor Adventure Camp in South Australia. A lovely riverside venue sitting amongst the serene landscapes of the Adelaide Hills. There’s plenty to do both in and around the camp so time to get a little more familiar with our 2021 AWCF conference location.

First things first. This is a summer conference, so absolutely do not forget to bring your bathers for a dip in the Weir! The river surrounding the camp can be a little unpredictable and the spots vary in quality and safety. But nearby is Ewing’s Weir, the go-to swimming hole for the locals. It’s accessible from the camp grounds and it’s where you can enjoy a proper Australian cool down.

The township of Mylor is small. There is a general store and cafe but not too much else. Don’t fret! There is still plenty to discover nearby.

The camp is only a 10 minute drive from thriving Adelaide Hills destinations like Hahndorf and Stirling. A quick google search will reveal many homely pubs and gorgeous wineries nearby. For those looking to explore the land a little more, check out walkingsa.org.au to find nearby trails.

Don’t hesitate to explore the hills in your spare time! You will not be disappointed.

Meals are being provided by the camp! From Friday lunch through to Monday lunch, all meals will be catered by the lovely staff at the Adventure Camp. There are kitchen facilities available for those who want to put together some of their own meals, but just remember that food is included in the conference ticket price.

Linen, on the other hand, is not provided. Make sure to bring your own sleeping bags, towels, pillows, and the like.

Make sure to bring everything you need to stay sun safe! Hats, and sunscreen will be an absolute must for this summer conference.

Bring some sports equipment! There’s plenty room on the grounds for footys, frisbees, and cricket matches. There’s even a basketball court if you can bring your own ball.

If you have any questions you’d like to ask the camp personally, drop an email to adventure@baptistcaresa.org.au

It’s shaping up to be an outstanding summer outstanding conference. Cross your fingers and hope that COVID doesn’t give us any trouble. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!
