Good evening, chunners far and wide.
I am very happy to announce that this year we are coming together in sunny Queensland! Our venue is Tamborine Mountain, a sub-tropical plateau in the Gold Coast hinterland know for spectacular views and thick rain forest. It’s about 62km from Brisbane (30 minute drive), and is the result of an outpouring of lava from Mount Warning. It has a collection of villages along its 8km ridge whose residents use the volcanic soil to farm avocado, kiwifruit, apples, and mangoes.
We will be there over the 4th to the 7th of October. Richard has been very busy on this, so add this to your diary! We will be staying at ThunderBird Park, which looks like a lot of fun. That park has a lot of extra activities, and even has a bookable shuttle service to help get you out to the venue.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be releasing more information, such as ticketing, activities, presenters, and programs, so be sure to subscribe to the AWCF website and staying touch on our Facebook.
p.s. That isn’t a typo, it’s “Tamborine” not “Tambourine”. Weird…
